Did you know that Los Angeles is the only city that provides live traffic info to Waze/Google? That means the apps are getting information straight from public traffic cams and detour knowledge bases versus waiting for distracted drivers to report an issue.
Now the city is informing your commute by launching the GoLA app. The newly launched app provides a myriad of public and private travel options to get you across the city Sooner, Cheaper or Greener…based on your parameters.
The project was built and funded by Xerox in conjunction with Mayor Eric Garcetti’s Technology team, headed by their super-smart CTO Peter Marx. Peter’s also responsible for things like free wi-fi at LAX and the city’s open data portal.
